Miscellaneous

When chairing timed talks, I use a countdown presentation in powerpoint. I find this very helpful as chair and to speakers, if pointed at them in slideshow mode. I got this from Igor Markov, who got it from somebody else, but unlike an urban legend the thing really exists.
