Permutation Pattern 2025 will take place in St Andrews (Scotland), at the University of St Andrews.
The closest international airport is Edinburgh airport. From there, there are various shuttle service or public transport options to St Andrews. For public transports, Google Map information is generally reliable.
If travelling by train, the closest train station is Leuchars. You can get to St Andrews in 15 minutes via the frequent 99 bus service.

It is worth noting that while taxis/Uber are available, they are expensive and public transport is recommended in Scotland (and mostly reliable).
Getting to St Andrews from Edinburgh Airport
Bus (direct route)
There is now a direct bus link from Edinburgh Airport to St Andrews! The JET787 is operated by Stagecoach and tickets can be bought on the bus (card or cash). This is the most budget friendly option.
If you want to choose a more indirect route, take the tram or bus from the airport to Edinburgh.
Tram to Edinburgh outskirts (indirect route)
If you take the tram there is the option of catching the train from Edinburgh Gateway (on the outskirts of Edinburgh) to Leuchars. In Leuchars catch any of the 99 coded busses heading towards St Andrews.
Bus/Tram to Edinburgh city centre (indirect route)
If you take the tram or the bus (Airlink 100) into the city, you follow the instructions Getting to St Andrews from Edinburgh.
Getting to St Andrews from Prestwick (Glasgow) Airport (PIK)
Bus
From Prestwick (Glasgow) Airport, there is the X77 that gets you to Glasgow city centre (Buchanan Bus Station). Then follow the instructions Getting to St Andrews from Glasgow.
Train
There is a train from Prestwick Airport which will get you to Glasgow Central station, which is walking distance to Queen Street (train) station and Buchanan (bus) station. Then follow the instructions Getting to St Andrews from Glasgow.
Getting to St Andrews from Glasgow Airport (GLA)
There is a bus connection from Glasgow airport to the city centre (Glasgow Airport Express Service 500, or the slightly slower 77), which ends at Buchanan Bus Station. Then follow the instructions Getting to St Andrews from Glasgow.
Getting to St Andrews from Edinburgh
Bus
When in Edinburgh, you can catch a bus (X59) from the St Andrews Bus Station (yes this is confusing) to St Andrews, or the considerably longer (but scenic) X58, X60 or X61.
If you are using the Stagecoach app/webpage please be sure you are choosing the correct St Andrews! St Andrews Bus Station, Fife is the University town. St Andrews Bus Station, City Of Edinburgh is the bus station/stop in Edinburgh!
Train (then bus)
There is a regular train connection from Waverley and Haymarket to Leuchars station. In Leuchars catch any of the 99 coded busses heading towards St Andrews.
Getting to St Andrews from Glasgow
Glasgow Central (train) station, Queen Street (train) station and Buchanan (bus) station are all within walking distance of each other.
Bus
From Glasgow Buchanan Bus Station there is a regular bus service X24 to St Andrews.
Train (then bus)
From Glasgow Queen Street Station there is a train connection to Dundee, where you can catch the 99 bus to St Andrews. OR (occasionally this is faster) catch a train to Edinburgh (from Queen Street is usually faster, but there are trains from Central station as well) and change for a train (or bus) from Edinburgh (see Getting to St Andrews from Edinburgh).
Accommodation
One option is the St Andrews Premier Inn hotel. This hotel is located in the southern part of St Andrews and a 25 minute walk from the School of Computer Science.
There are also a range of B&Bs options, and some students halls are open to visitors in the summer months.
We will be offering discounted student halls rooms during registration.

During registration you will be able to book rooms at McIntosh Hall.
McIntosh Hall is a 9 minute walk to the conference venue. We have secured a discounted rate for the rooms which will be available with early-registrations
